How can you save water and money?
Conserving Clay County
Spring is often a time when homeowners get outside to spruce up their lawns and plant new flowers.  In Summer – we reap the rewards, and we water.   Did you know that there are watering restrictions in place for all of Clay County?

Florida watering restrictions are in place year-round for most parts of Florida, including Clay County.  The St Johns River Water Management District provides guidelines that are designed to ensure the efficient use of water for landscape irrigation.  These mandatory restrictions specify the time of day when watering may occur, the amount of water that may be applied, and the days when watering may occur for residential and nonresidential locations.

  • For odd-numbered houses, the days are Wednesday and Saturday.
  • For even-numbered houses, the days are Thursday and Sunday.
  • Businesses can water on Tuesday and Fridays.
  • You may not water after 10 AM or before 4 PM.
  • Each zone can be watered for no more than one hour.
  • Some exceptions apply.

During Eastern Standard Time, odd-numbered houses can water on Saturday, even-numbered on Sunday and businesses on Tuesday.
Be smart with your choices when watering your grass, the bushes, flowers and gardens.   Water in Florida appears to be of abundance but our only source for drinking is the Florida Aquifer.  Not only will conserving water help protect Florida’s water resources, it will also have a drastic positive impact on your utility bill.
